Today we'd like to introduce you to Ellie Renée
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.

For a content creator to say they are not consumed with social media sounds absurd. That was me less than a year and a half ago. As I looked over Facebook and spent a few minutes here and there on YouTube, I came across some suggested videos from channels where the primary content included try on haul videos. It was interesting to me that not only did I want to see what outfits they had, along with details of where to find them, but also that the videos seemed simple enough to do and were big hits regarding the number of views they received. Somewhere in the back of my mind, I thought “I could totally do that.”

Not long after, I had my iPhone setup on a tripod while I introduced myself to the world in my very first YouTube video. It was so much fun (by fun I mean exciting, scary, terrifying, etc.) to put myself in a position to be publicly judged, for better or worse.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?

The struggles I have faced over the last few months pale in comparison to many small business owners. The difficulty I face lies in the fact that there are many, many people creating content for the worldwide web. Anytime you look, you will find someone that does things better and more efficiently. To find success, I must continually be creative, stay at the edge of technology all while staying what is true to my area of the web that makes it my own.

Not that my content is for everyone. I am reminded of that often from those that post negative and sometimes hurtful comments on my pages. Fortunately, over time these sting less and are dismissed with the other rubbish from the day.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?

My brand is myself, Ellie Renee. I am committed to my pages by providing daily content in the form of pictures to videos on various topics, based on many different sources of ideas and concepts. What is consistent? Me. I stay true to myself in all that I create and share. Not only that, I return messages and communicate with those who choose to subscribe/support these channels. Sometimes I spend more time on communication than on content, if that is possible… Content creation for many is crowd sourced and not possible without those that can support the channels they enjoy following/subscribing to.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?

In a digital world, copyrighted material is not always honored as being the property of the creator once it is published. If I could go back and talk to myself at the beginning, I would tell Ellie to find ways to secure pictures and videos as much as possible. Take time to find the best hosts for your content and watch for those that wish to take what you have created and use it as their own work.
